A short essay and powerpoint presentation that I did in March 2008 for a TELUS competition about the future of the telecom industry. I was placed second place.
Synopsis:
1. The internet system will become as reliable as the supply of electricity2. Monopolies will not exist, technology sharing in industry will be essential
3. Mainstream mobile devices become more accepted by the market and more integrated with internet protocol
4. Wireless internet protocols over wide areas become mainstream and fully integrated
5. Social communications and public interest among consumers will have large impacts on the telecom business
